Not only does deprojecting the tip improve the pointiness, but the way in which I was able to arrange the tip cartilages allows for a less narrow tip. The base view of our patient shown below is an even better way of seeing how rhinoplasty can be used to soften a pointy nose. I also refined the bridge creating a more elegant profile and conservatively rotated the tip as well.ĭeprojecting the tip and improving nostril symmetry The after photo shown on the right shows how I was able to bring the tip cartilages in toward the face to decrease the overall projection. Additionally, she has a bump on her bridge and slightly droopy tip. The before photo on the left illustrates the patient's over-projected nasal tip. This patient is a great example of what a rhinoplasty can do to improve a long, pointy tip. Pointy Tip and Bridge Bump Before and After Rhinoplasty Case Study Of course, a combination of all these features can also occur. Lastly, the combination of having thin skin and sharp bends (also called a bossa) in the tip cartilages can also create a pointed appearance. In other cases pointiness is related to an over-projected, or long, tip. Pinching can occur naturally, but is more commonly the result of prior over-aggressive rhinoplasty surgery. Very often the main issue is that the nasal tip is overly narrow or pinched. When a patient tells me that they don't like their pointy nose, it is important to determine what features are creating the appearance they want changed. Today I will discuss the related issue of treating a pointy tip. Next time I'll just drizzle chocolate over the bacon. In my last post I discussed the process of using rhinoplasty to downsize a large, over-projected nose. (3) There was a tad too much chocolate on the bacon and I didn't quite achieve that perfect salty sweet balance. (2) As the treats cooled, the chocolate hardened onto the cooling rack. Next time I won't cut each strip in half. (1) My bacon treats looked a bit like puny dog treats. But I wasn't perfectly happy with the results, so there are definitely changes that I'll make next time. (5) I put the finished treats in the fridge to cool the chocolate. (4) I dipped the potato chips into the chocolate and then also placed them onto the cooling rack. Then, I placed the strips onto a cooling rack so that the excess chocolate would be able to drip off. (2) I melted the semi-sweet chocolate in a double boiler.Īfter the strips of bacon cooled, I dipped them into the chocolate. (1) I cooked bacon in the microwave until they were nice and crispy. Heart attack and tooth decay all in one delicious package. I love having my very own stash of little chewy bars to munch on throughout the day.erm. Once your cake cools, just cut it up and store your tiny mochi bars in Tupperware. (I have no idea why I'm currently into wild west stuff.) Here's what my pumpkin mochi cake looked like once I sliced it up: If you don't, your mochi cake will stick to the pan and you will cry a whole lot.
